FAQ

tree stump overhead
  • What parts of the Charleston area do you service?
During the busy seasons, we generally stick to Mt Pleasant, Daniel Island, Clements Ferry, Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island, SC. That being said, we are more than happy to discuss travelling further for jobs of substantial size.
  • Do I need a permit to remove my trees?
Great question! Some trees DO require permitting, and you as the owner are responsible for determining and getting that permit. You can find information on your city's webpage, as well as a way to submit for approval. Don't get yourself in trouble- check on it first!
  • Do I need to have my utility lines marked before the job?
Yes! It's never a bad idea to have your utility lines marked before a tree removal or stump grind is completed. We are not liable for damage to lines, and do remember that irrigation lines are not generally markable.
  • What if it rains?
Due to the nature of our work, there is always the chance that schedules will slide and times will flex. You will be contacted as soon as we make the decision to change times or days. We appreciate your flexibility whe the weather doesn't cooperate with our work. The trees need water, so we try to appreciate rain despite the organizational chaos that is causes. Quote appointments can generally be completed in the rain, however.
  • Do you haul off debris from the job?
Yes, absolutely. Your quote includes the cleanup and removal of all debris caused by the work we complete. The cost of hauling and dumping is always included in your estimate.
  • Do you grind the stumps of trees to be removed?
The quote you receive will have a separate line item for stump removal. Should you decide not to have your stump ground, just let us know to make that change. We generally grind 8-12" below the surface to provide a nice workable palate for grass or landscape. If you are planting a new tree in that space, please let us know so we can quote for a much deeper stump removal.
  • Do you have a minimum charge for a job?
We do not, however we appreciate scheduling flexibility with jobs $300 and under. We will fit you in the next time we are in your neck of the woods, This doesn't usually take long if you're in the Mt Pleasant, Daniel Island, Isle of Palms or Sullivans Island areas. We will get you scheduled as soon as we see a job pop up nearby.
  • How much does it cost to have tree work done?
It's so hard to guess. That's why we will send Hayne out to give you a FREE quote!
  • How long does it take to get on your schedule?
We usually book about 1-2 weeks out. However, things are very fluid and the seasons can be like rollercoasters. We may ask to swing by today, or it could take three weeks. Let us give you a better idea by calling us today!
  • What do I need to do in preparation for our tree work?
-Get a permit for your trees if the city deems it necessary -Mark utility lines if doing a removal -Move cars and other objects out of the way around trees -Allow adequate access for machinery, if necessary -Have payment ready for payment day-of (upon your approval)
  • What types of payment do you accept?
We prefer cash or check on site. If you need to pay by credit card, that is an option as well, but do expect a 3% upcharge for fees that will be necessary in this event. Thanks for understanding!
  • When is payment due?
We require payment to be due on the date of service. Thank you in advance!
